It came as a surprise when I received a mail from the training department of HCL - T2ID( Talent Transformation and Intraprenuership Development) stating I have been selected for the annual awards in category of Outstanding performance ( Special Contribution category). Must be the work done on EVM and over 50+ trainings taken on same so far. Over an above lucky enough to receive the award from the hands of HCL Technologies CEO Vineet Nayyar :).

Dinner @ Ashok
On Jaewoo's 2nd business trip to India he invited all NUS batchmates staying in Delhi for a dinner meet at Kumgang Korean restaurant in Hotel Ashok. Great food with good hospitality shown by the owner of the restaurant who happens to be a native Korean.

Fan Chan
This is one of the best movies I have seen in a long time. Fan Chan( My Girl) is the story of two childhood friends named Jeab (boy) and Noi Nah(girl). Going through the daily routine of going to school, playing and then back home to sleep. The father of both are barbers and mothers are quite good friends. The movie shows a lot of innocence captured in childhood and the very simple acts of care which will surely make you feel stick to it. Music too is very good. More reviews here.

Brida
8th read of Paulo Coelho. The book is about an Irish woman's story of finding her soul mate while going through the Traditions of the Moon to discover her Gift. The author is quite elaborate of the rituals to be performed for Traditions of the Moon and has included a separate warning before beginning of the story to forbid people from imitating such rituals without guidance. Brida is a young Irish woman in quest for knowledge of the magic. Meets an old book seller, comes in contact with a person named Wicca who becomes her teacher and guides her to letting her know her Gift. As common with other Coelho books, once you start reading you cannot keep it down until you finish it. It is a good read but falls short when compared to Alchemist and 11 Minutes.

The Undercover Economist
Took a long to finish this one. One recommendation, if you try reading it do not leave any chapter midway as when you are back on it after 1-2 days gap earlier read is all washed out. Thats what happened to me reading this book, except for the last few chapters. The author does a commendable job to explain economics taking into account much talked about issues like Globalization, Trade barriers , Pollution and explaining how China grew rich. A new perspective on the sweatshops which I was prompted to think again as earlier reading of John Pilger left me with a completely different view. This book surely needs one more reading ( another way of saying I did not comprehend all what Tim tried to explain but I think I will be able to). Not an easy read as it prompts to put your brain to much of thinking to get the point ( atleast for me) .
